The Client
Carrier Transicold is a global leader in transport refrigeration solutions, delivering advanced, efficient and emissions-compliant systems for trucks, trailers and light commercial vehicles. Their Australian service team relies on fully equipped mobile workshops to maintain uptime for customers operating temperature-critical fleets.
Vehicle Platform
Renault Master MWB L2 H2 (3rd Gen / X62) Single sliding door, rear barn doors, single rear wheel
The Challenge
Carrier Transicold required a national fleet rollout that would:
- Support the specialised needs of mobile refrigeration technicians
- Deliver consistent layouts and equipment across multiple vehicles and locations
- Provide sufficient on-board power, storage and safety compliance
- Maintain clear visibility of build progress throughout the rollout
- Be scalable for future fleet expansion
The vehicles needed to function as true mobile workshops, capable of supporting electrical tools, gas handling, parts storage and safe on-site servicing, all while remaining compliant and easy for technicians to work from day to day.
The VQuip Solution
VQuip worked closely with the Carrier Transicold team through our concept design and national rollout process, developing a fitout that balanced standardisation with role-specific functionality.
A key part of the project was providing Carrier with full transparency throughout the build process using VHub, VQuip’s digital fleet visibility portal. This allowed the Carrier team to track each vehicle’s progress in real time, review build milestones and maintain confidence across the national rollout.

Electrical & Power System
To support refrigeration servicing and electrical tooling, each vehicle was equipped with a Dual 210Ah AGM battery system with 40A DC-DC charger, along with a 2600W true sinewave inverter. Other electrical components included a 12V socket and dual USB outlet, LED interior lighting and a Reversing buzzer.
External Fitout
To maximise access, safety and versatility on site, the external configuration included:
- Heavy-duty 4-bar roof rack system
- Gentili pull-down ladder loader for safe ladder handling
- Roof-mounted awning for weather protection
- Rear galvanised step and tow hitch
- Roof-mounted ventilation to improve airflow and interior comfort
These features improve both efficiency and ergonomics during daily service work.

Internal Fitout & Storage Design
The internal layout was engineered to support structured workflows and safe load management:
- Full-length hardwood ply floor
- Custom shelving systems with mixed shelf depths for parts and equipment
- A custom technician workbench with integrated vice and carry case storage
- Hardwood ply drawer system accessed via the sliding door
- Bunded storage for oils and liquids
- Dedicated gas bottle box
- Multiple gas bottle restraint solutions for different bottle sizes
- Integrated spill kit storage and chemical handling provisions
- Mesh wall panels for hanging components and improving visibility
- Dedicated fire extinguishers positioned for both cargo area and cabin
The result is a clean, logical layout that reduces search time, improves safety and supports consistent work practices across the fleet.

The Outcome
The completed fleet rollout delivered:
- Consistent, repeatable fitouts across multiple vehicles
- Improved technician efficiency and safety through structured layouts
- Reliable onboard power for refrigeration service work
- Full build transparency through the VHub portal
- A scalable solution ready to support future fleet growth
Carrier Transicold now has a fleet of mobile workshops that reflect their commitment to reliability, compliance and service excellence.
