Miele Australia & New Zealand
Miele Australia is a high-end supplier of home appliances. They operate a fleet of 150+ vans across the Australia & New Zealand, offering appliance maintenance and servicing to customers. These vans are stocked with various appliance components and sometimes even new products for delivery and installation.
The Challenge
Miele’s vans were equipped with a standard, one-size-fits-all modular shelving system. This approach led to a lot of wasted space in the vehicles, making it challenging for Miele service technicians to carry enough goods for their service calls.
The Solution
VQuip examined Miele’s existing vehicle setups, focusing on the technicians’ tasks and the products they needed. The VQuip sales and design team then created a custom solution for the vans, including heavy-duty shelving (customised to Miele’s preferred colour), hardwood ply flooring, parts storage bins, interior lighting, and various accessories.
The Result
The revamped van interiors saw a remarkable 50% increase in storage space. Consequently, Miele service technicians cut their rebooking times in half due to the improved capacity for products and components on board. The first 35 fitouts paid for themselves in just three months, thanks to the increased efficiency.
As an extra perk, the new van configuration also incorporated a sales element. The VQuip team added space for a stick vacuum, which technicians used for cleaning after appliance services and demonstrating the benefits of Miele stick vacuums to customers.
