United Equipment: Supporting Field Service Teams Across Australia
United Equipment sells, hires, and services forklift and access equipment across Australia. Their technicians operate nationally, travelling to customer sites to maintain and repair essential machinery used in warehouses, logistics facilities, construction sites, and industrial environments.
To support these mobile service teams, United Equipment required a consistent, well-equipped fleet of service vehicles capable of safely carrying tools, spare parts, and diagnostic equipment.
VQuip partnered with United Equipment to deliver a national rollout of more than 70 fully equipped service vans, built on the Ford Transit Custom LWB platform and deployed across multiple Australian states.
Designing a Fitout for Mobile Equipment Service:
United Equipment technicians often work in environments where reliable tooling, organised parts storage, and onboard power are essential. Their vehicles effectively function as mobile workshops, allowing technicians to diagnose and repair equipment directly onsite.
Each van was equipped with VQuip’s ADR-compliant crash-tested shelving system, providing secure and organised storage for tools, components, and consumables commonly required for forklift and access equipment servicing.
The shelving configuration was further customised with:
- Integrated slide-out storage systems for easier access to tools and equipment
- A fold-down vice, enabling technicians to complete small fabrication or repair tasks in the field
- A range of accessories and storage solutions to suit day-to-day service requirements
This layout allows technicians to quickly locate parts and tools, helping improve job efficiency and reducing unnecessary vehicle downtime.

Managing a National Fleet Rollout:
With vehicles being deployed across multiple Australian states, United Equipment required clear visibility over the production and rollout of their fleet.
Using VQuip’s VHub portal, the United Equipment team was able to track their vehicles throughout the build process.
VHub provided:
- Real-time rollout visibility across all states
- Production status updates for each vehicle
- Photo records of completed fitouts
- Digital quality assurance documentation
This transparency allowed the United Equipment team to monitor progress across the national rollout and access documentation as soon as vehicles were completed.
Delivering Consistency Across the Fleet:
Standardising the vehicle fitout specification across the rollout ensures that technicians experience consistent layouts and equipment storage regardless of which vehicle they operate.
For fleet operators, this consistency can support:
- Faster technician familiarisation with vehicles
- Easier training and onboarding
- Simplified maintenance and parts management
- Greater operational efficiency in the field
Supporting Mobile Service Operations:
By combining purpose-designed service vehicle layouts, onboard power capability, and national rollout coordination, the VQuip fitout program has helped United Equipment deploy a fleet of vehicles ready to support their technicians across Australia.
The result is a fleet of fully equipped mobile service vans capable of responding to equipment servicing requirements wherever their customers operate.
